Aedín began studying harp at the age of nine with the renowned harpist and teacher Dearbhail Finnegan, and she completed all of her RIAM grade exams to Senior Certificate. Aedín has played with the Meath Harp Ensemble for over fifteen years and has performed with them in prestigious concert venues both in Ireland and abroad, including Milan, Cardiff and the 2014 World Harp Congress in Sydney.

She has taught harp for a number of years, both privately and for Cómhaltas Tlachtga and at the Waltons New School of music. She is experienced at preparing numerous students for exams, competitions and ensemble performances. Along with traditional Irish music, she enjoys teaching classical and contemporary music and composes lever harp music for both individual players and ensembles.

Aedín has played at wedding and corporate venues across the country and enjoys bringing the ambient sounds of the harp to special occasions. She also has a huge amount of experience as a backing musician at session gigs and for singers.

‘‘The harp has always been a powerful outlet for expression for me. Teaching harp is a joy, and I take great pleasure in seeing students develop and progress into their own styles. I aim to give students the techniques, skills and confidence to realize the full potential of their playing, as well as to foster a sound environment for their creative expression.
